It doesn’t matter whether the planner is based in your home country or in the destination, as long as you can communicate clearly in one common language.
If you book a planner from your hometown, keep in mind:

When planning a wedding abroad, sending out invitations early is essential. Your guests need time to organise travel and request time off from work.

Your guests should also RSVP as early as possible so you can plan accurately.
Ideally, your wedding venue is also a hotel where your guests can stay. If not, choose a hotel nearby so that everyone can reach the venue easily.
It’s best to include the recommended hotel in your invitation so your guests can book early.
A destination wedding always comes with some bureaucratic tasks. A symbolic ceremony (non-legal) is the easiest option.
If you want a legally binding ceremony abroad, remember:
- register your wedding early in the destination country
- clarify how the marriage will be recognised in your home country
- check whether your marriage certificate needs a translation or an apostille
Plan ahead so there are no last-minute surprises.
